About Bonecraft
Bonecraft, Combat, designed by Ron Spencer first released in October 1996 in the set Sabbat and was printed exactly in 4 different ways.
Bonecraft fits a defensive, attrition-focused Vicissitude deck that expects repeated combats, especially against minions relying on strength-based strikes. At superior Vicissitude, the lasting −2 strength can be more valuable than the strike’s 1 damage: removing the card costs a vampire an action and 2 blood, while an ally cannot pay that cost at all. It is less useful against decks that deal damage through weapons, ranged strikes, or other effects that do not depend on strength. If your aim is simply to win the current combat, **Breath of the Dragon** is usually a stronger Vicissitude strike; Bonecraft’s reason to exist is the lasting debuff. I would play it as a situational inclusion in a combat-heavy deck, not as a staple or the deck’s main strike.
