About Weather Control
Weather Control, Combat, designed by Richard Thomas, Brian LeBlanc first released in augustus 1994 in the set Jyhad and was printed exactly in 7 different ways.
Weather Control fits a **combat-heavy deck with high-capacity vampires who have superior Thaumaturgy (THA)**, plenty of blood, and ways to recover it, such as Theft of Vitae. Its appeal is that unpreventable damage happens *before range is determined*, can remove fragile retainers, and grows each round at THA; its drawback is that it hurts your vampire and their retainers too. For most Thaumaturgy combat decks, **Theft of Vitae is the better card to prioritize**: stealing blood pressures the opponent while replenishing yours. If your deck also has Animalism, Carrion Crows is another strong recurring-damage option that does not hurt your own side, though it lacks Weather Control’s early, unpreventable damage. **Weather Control should see play as a niche choice**, particularly if you expect vulnerable retainers or can reliably survive and exploit multiple rounds—not as a default combat staple.
