About Torrent
Torrent, Combat, designed by John Bridges first released in mei 2018 in the set Keepers of Tradition Reprint and was printed exactly in 2 different ways.
Torrent best fits Celerity-based bleed, political, or toolbox decks whose vampires need their key actions to succeed even when blocked, especially decks using high-capacity CEL vampires that can afford its 2-blood cost; its inferior effect also gives combat-oriented CEL decks a limited additional strike. However, it is generally a niche card rather than a staple: Form of Mist is usually better when Protean is available because it performs the same superior function for less blood, while Mirror Walk is often better in Chimerstry stealth decks because it combines stealth with the same “continue as unblocked” effect. Torrent can see play as a metagame choice or in decks lacking stronger alternatives, but most CEL decks should prioritize stealth, ordinary combat-avoidance cards, or other action-protection tools before including it, typically using only a small number of copies.
