About Selective Silence
Selective Silence, Combat, designed by Jeff Holt first released in februari 2005 in the set Kindred Most Wanted and was printed exactly in 3 different ways.
Selective Silence is most useful in a stealth-bleed or toolbox deck with Quietus vampires that wants to avoid a dangerous close-range fight: its `[qui]` maneuver can help keep a gun or combat opponent at long range, while the `[QUI]` option can force the range before it is determined at the cost of 1 blood. For range control, though, **Weighted Walking Stick** is generally better if your vampire can use it, since it provides a maneuver without spending a combat card each time; **Flash** is a more flexible maneuver option for vampires with Celerity, and **Target Vitals** can offer a maneuver plus extra strike damage for a gun-oriented combat plan. Selective Silence is free and can be worthwhile as a small, discipline-specific inclusion when you expect to face close-range combat, but it is narrow, only works in the first round, and its superior effect costs blood, so I wouldn’t treat it as a core card or include it unless your deck specifically needs Quietus range control.
