About Save Face
Save Face, Combat, designed by Durwin Talon first released in juni 2001 in the set Final Nights.
Save Face is best suited to a same-clan combat or combat-toolbox deck that uses older vampires to support younger fighters, particularly decks that benefit from extending combat for a second round to apply additional aggravated damage, torporize opponents, or exploit combat effects while recovering a blood afterward; it is most attractive in clans with strong combat and many age-diverse vampires. However, its restrictions—an unlocked noncombatant of the same clan, a younger combatant, both vampires remaining ready, and use only during the press step—make it highly situational, while the mandatory continuation can sometimes be harmful. Psyche! is generally better for reliably continuing combat because the combatant can play it directly and it is less dependent on clan and age relationships, while Taste of Vitae is better if the main goal is blood gain; ordinary press cards are also more flexible. Save Face can be a cute inclusion in a dedicated clan combat deck with sufficient copies of
