About Rapid Thought
Rapid Thought, Combat, designed by Clint Langley first released in oktober 1996 in the set Sabbat and was printed exactly in 2 different ways.
Rapid Thought is most useful in a Celerity combat deck—especially a gun or strike-based deck that wants to see the opposing minion’s declared strike before choosing between a hand strike, ranged strike, or dodge; it can also help a deck that benefits from pressing or maneuvering without spending blood. However, its superior ability is situational and giving the opponent strike priority can be dangerous against cards such as Immortal Grapple or other powerful strike effects, so it is generally a niche inclusion rather than a staple. In most Celerity combat decks, Pursuit is usually better because it provides a maneuver and an additional strike at superior, while Blur or Psyche! may be preferable depending on whether the deck needs additional strikes or combat continuation. Rapid Thought should see play only in a dedicated reactive combat strategy, preferably one with strong strike flexibility; otherwise, its slot is better spent on more reliable combat cards.
