Protection Racket

About Protection Racket

Protection Racket, Reaction, designed by Ginés Quiñonero-Santiago first released in januari 2016 in the set Anarch Unbound and was printed exactly in 5 different ways.

Protection Racket best fits an Anarch wall or intercept-control deck, particularly one using many Anarch vampires with a low-discipline crypt and expecting actions from titled vampires, since it provides a free +1 intercept and often +2 against Princes, Justicars, Barons, and other titled minions; however, it is less reliable than discipline-based options, so Auspex decks generally prefer Eyes of Argus or Enhanced Senses, while untap/reaction cards such as On the Qui Vive are often more broadly useful, and dedicated Anarch decks may also favor more specialized intercept or action-denial tools. It should see play as inexpensive defensive filler in Anarch intercept decks—especially if your metagame has many titled vampires—but it is not usually a premium inclusion and should be replaced by stronger intercept cards whenever your crypt and discipline package support them.
