Maleficia, Master, designed by Aaron Acevedo first released in februari 2010 in the set Heirs to the Blood.
Maleficia fits an **infernal deck built around Maleficia-requiring cards**, especially if its key vampires lack [mal] or need a second copy to reach [MAL]. Its zero cost and trifle keyword make it relatively easy to play, but it still takes deck slots, requires an infernal vampire, and does nothing until you draw the cards it enables. There is no universally better card that grants the same access; the better *deck-building choice*, when available, is to use vampires with [mal] or [MAL] already printed on them. It should see play in a deck that needs to give specific infernal vampires that access, but not as a general-purpose card in infernal decks.
