About Decapitate
Decapitate, Combat, designed by Randy Gallegos first released in oktober 1996 in the set Sabbat and was printed exactly in 3 different ways.
Decapitate fits a Potence combat deck—especially a rush deck that regularly sends opposing vampires to torpor and wants to remove them permanently before they can be rescued. Its superior effect is the main reason to include it: unlike **Amaranth**, it burns the vampire without diablerie and the resulting blood hunt, though its 2-blood cost is substantial. If your deck mainly needs combat damage, cheaper Potence strikes such as **Increased Strength** are generally better; if it specifically needs to burn vampires, Decapitate is a worthwhile option. I’d play a small number in a deck that can reliably win combats and afford the blood, but not treat it as a staple.

Sequencing rules apply, and if played first, effects that stop a vampire from going to torpor would prevent the use of effects that are only usable on a vampire going to torpor. [RTR 20010711]

[pot]Adding damage to a strike that does not deal damage has no effect, so the strike still will not do damage. [RTR 19960221]
