About Conflagration
Conflagration, Combat, designed by Steve Prescott first released in december 2001 in the set Bloodlines and was printed exactly in 3 different ways.
Conflagration fits a combat-focused Baali or other Daimoinon deck that can reliably reach long range: its main attraction is 2 ranged aggravated damage at superior Daimoinon, which can burn vampires rather than merely wound them. The inferior Potence mode is a useful fallback, but it is not a strong reason to include the card on its own; a Potence deck would generally prefer a dedicated ranged strike such as Earthshock. Breath of the Dragon offers more ranged aggravated damage for a deck with Thaumaturgy, though it is not a direct replacement for vampires with Daimoinon. I would play Conflagration in a deck built to exploit its superior Daimoinon mode, but skip it in a generic Potence combat deck or one that cannot consistently control range.
