About Augur
Augur, Action, designed by Avery Butterworth first released in april 2006 in the set Nights of Reckoning.
Augur is best in a toolbox, wall, or control deck—especially one that can exploit information about the predator’s and prey’s hands to choose when to block, bleed, or pursue an action, while also using the top three cards to improve draws; the +1 stealth and end-of-action unlock make it relatively safe and low-risk. However, it does not directly gain pool, remove a threat, or advance a win condition, so aggressive bleed, rush, and combat decks will usually prefer more proactive actions. There is no universally superior card that provides both hand information and library manipulation, although dedicated card-selection effects such as Anticipation are generally better when consistency is the priority, while hand-disruption cards are better when the goal is to punish what you see. Augur can see play as a one- or two-copy utility card in an information-focused toolbox, but it is not a competitive staple and should usually be cut if the deck needs every action to produce immediate pressure
