Reglas

If the combat continues or a new combat begins, the card is put on the vampire, he is not locked and does not go to torpor. He still does not unlock as normal. [RTR 20020501] [LSJ 20071009]
08/10/2026
The "does not unlock as normal" effect is redundant with being infernal. If the minion is infernal, his controller can still pay a pool to unlock him. [LSJ 20050114]
08/10/2026
The "does not unlock as normal" effect stops if Rötschreck is burned or removed. [ANK 20191025]

Can be played and is effective even if the opponent treats aggravated damage as normal. [ANK 20200130-1]
08/10/2026
Combat ends immediately, strikes are not resolved (including strike: combat ends), damage prevention cannot be played, and a second Rötschreck cannot be played. [LSJ 19990217] [LSJ 20020715] [LSJ 20060803]
08/10/2026
Ends combat with both minions still ready, so cards and effects usable "when the opposing vampire is going to torpor / should go into torpor / is not ready" cannot be used. [LSJ 20070709-2] [LSJ 20020402]
08/10/2026
Can be played and is effective even if the opponent has announced a Strike: Dodge or Strike: Combat Ends. [LSJ 20011005] [ANK 20211102]
08/10/2026
Cannot be played if a non-strike effect would inflict aggravated damage (eg. {Outside the Hourglass} with {Domain of Evernight}). REVERSAL of a 2011 ruling. [ANK 20220114]
08/10/2026
Cannot be played if the damage is not effective at the current range [RTR 19980928] [ANK 20211102]
