About React with Conviction
React with Conviction, Conviction, designed by Travis Ingram first released in April 2006 in the set Nights of Reckoning.
React with Conviction is best in an imbued toolbox, wall, or defensive deck that expects to face Dominate, Presence, Dementation, Chimerstry, or Serpentis—particularly decks protecting a key imbued from Entrancement, Conditioning-style actions, political manipulation, or discipline-based combat strikes; its zero cost and ability to cancel an entire action or strike without paying the opposing card’s cost make it very efficient when relevant. However, it is highly matchup-dependent: against decks using other disciplines it may do nothing, and it is only a one-shot defense. There is no universally superior direct replacement, but broader cards such as Second Sight or intercept-oriented Convictions are generally better for consistent defense, while combat-focused decks may prefer cards that improve survival every round; therefore, React with Conviction should see play as a one- or two-copy metagame choice in defensive imbued decks, but it should not be an automatic inclusion in every imbu
