Gargoyle Slave best fits a Tremere antitribu ally toolbox, wall, or combat-control deck—especially one using The Unmasking, intercept, or rushes—where its damage prevention lets it block repeatedly and its +1 stealth life-gain action keeps it alive; however, three blood for a 2-strength, 0-bleed ally with no built-in intercept is a steep price, and spending an action to heal it is often inefficient. Nephandus is usually the better Tremere antitribu ally because it is cheaper, provides 1 bleed, and can burn vampires in torpor, while Carlton Van Wyk or other defensive allies are generally better if your priority is blocking and utility rather than combat endurance. Gargoyle Slave can be playable as a resilient auxiliary blocker in a dedicated ally or wall deck, but it is not a staple and should see play only when the deck specifically exploits recurring allies, damage prevention, and The Unmasking; most ordinary Tremere antitribu decks have stronger uses for their blood and actions.
