Emergency Rations

About Emergency Rations

Emergency Rations, Action, designed by Peter Bergting first released in November 2005 in the set Legacies of Blood.

Emergency Rations fits a **Nagaraja toolbox or combat deck** that expects mortals (allies or retainers) to die and wants to keep an expensive vampire ready without spending a later action to gain blood; its +1 stealth helps it get through, but it still costs an action to install, needs a mortal in an ash heap, and only pays off when the Nagaraja is below capacity. There is no broadly better card that does exactly the same thing, but for routine blood management, **Villein** is usually more efficient at recovering pool from a vampire, while **Taste of Vitae** is a better combat option when you can reliably burn opposing vampires and gain blood. I’d treat Emergency Rations as a **niche one-of or small package**, not a staple: play it when your deck can reliably supply ash-heap mortals and has a clear reason to refill a key Nagaraja; otherwise use those slots for more dependable blood-management or deck-plan cards.
