About Conquer the Beast

Conquer the Beast fits an **Animalism combat deck that wants several rounds of fighting**, especially one using Carrion Crows to deal damage each round. It is strongest at superior Animalism: optional presses let you keep a favorable combat going without forcing another round when you would rather stop. At inferior Animalism, the mandatory presses are risky, particularly if your opponent is winning the fight. Aid from Bats is usually the more flexible choice when you need a maneuver as well as a press, while Trap can provide continuing presses without requiring Animalism; neither simply replaces Conquer the Beast’s superior effect. **It should see play as a situational card**, not an automatic inclusion: try it if your deck benefits from repeated rounds, but prioritize reliable damage and the maneuvers needed to make those rounds count.
