About Champion
Champion, Power, designed by Peter Bergting first released in April 2006 in the set Nights of Reckoning.
Champion best fits a combat-oriented Imbued toolbox or wall deck that runs several Imbued, generates conviction reliably, and wants to punish opposing vampires or other minions for attacking it or its allies; it is particularly useful when your Imbued are strong in combat, since it both stops the original action and forces the attacker into a fight. However, its two-conviction cost and narrow requirement make it less generally useful than broader defensive options such as Deflection or Telepathic Misdirection for redirecting actions, or Second Tradition: Domain in a vampire-based deck, while combat decks may prefer dedicated prevention or strike cards that work more often. Champion should see play only in a focused Imbued combat or defensive build—probably as a small, metagame-dependent inclusion rather than an automatic staple—because in ordinary Imbued decks it is too reactive, expensive in conviction, and ineffective when opponents are not directing actions at your Imbued or other e
