About Bollix

Bollix, Combat, designed by Tomáš "zelgaris" Zahradníček, Peter Bergting first released in January 2016 in the set Anarch Unbound.

Bollix is most useful in an Anarch combat or toolbox deck that routinely has vampires with Celerity, Presence, and Thaumaturgy, especially one expecting weapon-heavy opposing vampires or combat decks relying on Immortal Grapple, Psyche!, Frenzy, or aim cards; its zero blood cost and three relevant modes give it flexibility, but each mode is fairly narrow. In most decks, better dedicated cards exist: use Flash, Blur, or Pursuit for reliable Celerity maneuvers and presses, Direct Intervention or discipline-specific answers for cancelling key cards, and Blood Fury for the superior Thaumaturgy hand-strike effect. Bollix should generally not see play as a staple because it requires an Anarch, needs three disciplines to be broadly useful, and is often dead outside the right matchup, though one or two copies can be justified in a metagame dominated by weapons and combat tricks or in a compact Anarch combat package that values versatility over efficiency.
