About Telepathic Misdirection

Telepathic Misdirection, Reaction, designed by Edward Beard, Jr., James Stowe first released in August 1994 in the set Jyhad and was printed exactly in 14 different ways.

Telepathic Misdirection is mainly useful in an Auspex wall or toolbox deck that wants bleed redirection but does not have access to Dominate, since its inferior version provides +1 intercept and its superior version can bounce a bleed to another Methuselah after blocks are declined; however, locking the reacting vampire is a significant cost, especially because it prevents that vampire from blocking or acting later. My Enemy’s Enemy is generally better because it provides the same Auspex bounce effect without locking the vampire, while Deflection is usually better still in a deck with Dominate because it can redirect bleeds more flexibly and has no lock requirement. Telepathic Misdirection should therefore see play only as a metagame call or as additional bounce in an Auspex-heavy deck lacking enough My Enemy’s Enemy or Deflection; it is rarely the first-choice reaction card.
