About Seraph's Second
Seraph's Second, Action modifier, designed by Jeremy McHugh first released in March 2007 in the set Sword of Caine.
Seraph’s Second is best in a Black Hand multi-action deck with one or more ready Seraphs supporting non-Seraph vampires: unlocking a vampire after a bleed, political action, recruitment, or other useful action lets it act again or remain ready to block. Its strengths are its zero blood cost, lack of discipline requirements, and usability after resolution even if the action was unsuccessful; its weaknesses are the need for a ready Seraph, its inability to unlock the Seraph itself, and the limit of one copy played per Seraph per turn. There is no universally better replacement: Freak Drive is more flexible for vampires with Fortitude because it does not require a supporting Seraph or Black Hand membership, although it costs a blood and needs superior Fortitude to work after an unsuccessful action; Forced March is another strong alternative for vampires with both Celerity and Fortitude. Tattoo Signal is worth considering in a dedicated Seraph deck because it supplies repeatable unlocking
