About Respire
Respire, Power, designed by Brian LeBlanc first released in April 2006 in the set Nights of Reckoning.
Respire is best in a **mid-capacity Imbued deck** that can afford to spend actions and wants a repeatable way to replenish conviction: its zero-cost, undirected damage action can move conviction from hand or ash heap onto the Imbued, and the conviction can then fund a stealthy blood/life gain action. It is a niche choice, though, because the first action only works against vampires with capacity below 6, while the second spends the conviction to gain just 1 blood or life; decks needing combat damage or reliable resource recovery will generally prefer more efficient, dedicated cards for those jobs. I’d include Respire only if your deck specifically values moving conviction out of the ash heap or has a use for the healing action—otherwise, it is usually not worth the action slots.
