About Phobia
Phobia, Action, designed by Ron Spencer first released in May 1996 in the set Ancient Hearts and was printed exactly in 3 different ways.
Phobia fits a very slow Serpentis **intercept (“wall”) deck** that expects to block the same opposing vampire repeatedly; at superior Serpentis, the +1 stealth makes it easier to attach. Its payoff is narrow, though: you need five master phases to build enough counters, and it ends combat only when *your* minion blocks the attached vampire. If your goal is simply to keep your blockers safe, cards such as **Majesty** or **Earth Meld** are generally better where your vampires have the required disciplines, because they can end combat immediately. If your goal is to exploit a slow-building Serpentis action against a younger vampire, **Temptation** offers a much stronger payoff by potentially taking control of that vampire. I would not include Phobia in most decks; it is a niche choice for a dedicated wall deck, not a generally strong card.
