About Permanency
Permanency, Action modifier, designed by Mark Poole first released in February 2005 in the set Kindred Most Wanted and was printed exactly in 2 different ways.
Permanency is most useful in a **Chimerstry-focused toolbox or combat deck** that regularly plays strong Chimerstry action modifiers—especially ones opponents are likely to cancel—or relies on persistent Chimerstry action cards that may be burned. Its first option can recover a modifier after it resolves, but only if it wasn’t canceled, so it is situational card recovery rather than a reliable engine; its second option protects an action card from being burned, but costs a card slot and requires the modifier to be in play. There is no universally better direct substitute: use **Narrow Minds** or other discipline-specific recursion only if it fits your deck’s needs and card pool, while **Direct Intervention** is better for preventing a key card from resolving but does not recover it. Permanency is playable as a niche one-of or in a deck built to exploit a particularly valuable Chimerstry action card, but in most decks it is too conditional to justify the slot over more proactive actions
