About Increased Strength
Increased Strength, Combat, designed by L. A. Williams first released in May 1996 in the set Ancient Hearts and was printed exactly in 6 different ways.
Increased Strength is best in Potence combat decks that make several Potence-requiring strikes during the same combat, especially Potence/Celerity builds using additional strikes or decks using presses to fight multiple rounds: boosting repeated Thrown Gates, Thrown Sewer Lids, or Undead Strength strikes lets its zero blood cost and combat-long duration pay off. The important restriction is that it does not boost ordinary hand strikes, even when their damage is enhanced by Torn Signpost, because those strikes do not themselves require Potence. For conventional close-range Potence combat, Torn Signpost is usually better because it improves ordinary hand-strike damage and fits the familiar Immortal Grapple combat package; Undead Strength is generally more efficient when you only expect to land one strike, providing an immediate damage bonus without needing a separate setup card. Neither is a strict replacement in a deck built around repeated ranged Potence strikes, where Increased Streng
