About Thirst

Thirst, Event, designed by Randy Asplund first released in May 2004 in the set Gehenna and was printed exactly in 2 different ways.

Thirst is mainly suited to a Gehenna-event deck that can keep several Gehenna events in play and pressure opponents so their small-capacity vampires cannot afford to hunt; otherwise its effect is usually too narrow, and it also hits your own vampires. Because Thirst counts itself, one copy does nothing to vampires of legal capacity (at least 1); you need another Gehenna event in play before it can affect capacity-1 vampires, and more events before it reaches larger vampires. There is no direct, generally better replacement for this exact effect, but cards that create immediate blood pressure or reward opposing vampires for being low on blood are usually more dependable. I would not include Thirst in a normal deck; consider it only in a dedicated Gehenna strategy whose other events and game plan make the threshold practical.
