About Thing
Thing, Action, designed by Javier Santos first released in October 2014 in the set The Unaligned and was printed exactly in 3 different ways.
Thing is best in a **Gangrel-heavy deck that needs to influence vampires quickly**, especially one with spare action capacity and few competing blood-gain options: it is a zero-cost, +1 stealth action that adds 2 blood to an uncontrolled Gangrel, effectively accelerating that vampire’s recruitment while being harder to block. It is most attractive when the deck can reliably take low-impact setup actions and values stealth; otherwise, spending an action before the vampire is ready can be a real tempo cost. There is no universally better direct replacement, but **Information Highway** is usually more efficient for accelerating a vampire’s recruitment because it reduces the blood cost without requiring an action, while **The Fourth Cycle** can provide blood to uncontrolled vampires in decks built to exploit it. Thing can still see play as a niche option in Gangrel decks when its stealth and zero pool cost matter, but it is not an automatic include: use it only if the deck needs the blood
