About Serpentis
Serpentis, Master, designed by Scott Kirschner, Katie McCaskill first released in May 1996 in the set Ancient Hearts and was printed exactly in 5 different ways.
Serpentis is most useful in a **Followers of Set deck** whose key vampire has inferior Serpentis and needs superior Serpentis to play important cards; it can also give a vampire without the discipline basic Serpentis. The extra capacity is a modest bonus, but the card costs a master-phase action and does little if your vampires already have the levels they need. There is no generally better card for making that specific upgrade, though **choosing vampires with printed superior Serpentis** is usually a better deck-building solution, leaving your master slots for cards such as Villein. It should see play as a small, deliberate inclusion when the upgrade enables a crucial play—not as a staple in every Serpentis deck.
