About Extortion
Extortion, Reaction, designed by Jim Nelson first released in June 2001 in the set Final Nights and was printed exactly in 2 different ways.
Extortion is best in a wall or intercept deck that blocks actions repeatedly: its inferior effect taxes the blocked vampire’s blood to unlock, while the superior effect steadily drains the acting Methuselah’s pool and is harder to avoid. The superior version is the more valuable one, especially against decks that need to unlock several vampires each turn, but the card is conditional: you must block first, and the target can spend the Edge to clear their Extortions. For blood denial, **Flurry of Action** or **Enticement** may offer more immediate impact; for pool pressure, cards such as **Anarch Revolt** are generally more reliable, though they work differently. Extortion can earn a place in a dedicated wall deck with reliable superior Serpentis and spare reaction slots, but it is usually too slow and situational to include in a general-purpose deck.
