About Backflip
Backflip, Combat, designed by Jim Di Bartolo first released in February 2005 in the set Kindred Most Wanted.
Backflip best fits a combat-avoidance deck that reliably reaches long range and wants its vampire to survive a ranged strike, then use the optional press to end combat or keep it going. It is less useful in a deck that cannot control range: at close range, it is unplayable. If your vampires have Presence or Protean, combat-ending cards such as Majesty or Earth Meld are generally better defensive choices because they do not depend on reaching long range. I would only play Backflip if the deck already has dependable maneuvers to long range and specifically values the press; otherwise, it is too situational to earn a slot.
