About Abactor
Abactor, Action, designed by Juan Calle first released in April 2009 in the set 2009 Tournament / Storyline promo.
Abactor fits decks with **large vampires that spend blood quickly and can reliably defeat the resulting blood-hunt referendum**—typically vote-heavy decks. Its +1 stealth and substantial refill make it attractive there, but a failed vote can cost you the vampire, so it is risky as general-purpose blood gain. **Giant’s Blood** is a safer, action-free refill, while **Voter Captivation** is usually better for a deck already passing political actions; Abactor’s advantage is that you can play it repeatedly. It should see play as a niche card when your deck can consistently control the vote, not as a default inclusion.

The Blood Hunt referendum is part of the action resolution. Cards that are played "after a successful action" or "after resolution" must be played after the referendum. {Heidelberg Castle, Germany} cannot be used before the referendum. [LSJ 20100112] [PIB 20121028]

"Successful resolution" means the action must not be blocked and the vampire must have gained blood. If the vampire cannot gain blood (eg., {Vampiric Disease}, {Ex Nihilo}), the blood hunt is not called even if the action is not blocked. [LSJ 20090411]
