About Target Retainer
Target Retainer, Combat, designed by Jeremy McHugh first released in May 2018 in the set Keepers of Tradition Reprint and was printed exactly in 2 different ways.
Target Retainer fits a combat deck that reliably lands strikes and expects to face valuable retainers, since it can remove a retainer without first getting through its controller. As a general damage boost, though, Target Vitals is the better aim: it adds +2 damage when a strike successfully damages the opposing minion, rather than Target Retainer’s +1. Both can be canceled by discarding two combat cards. I would not include Target Retainer in a typical combat deck; consider it only if retainers are common in your playgroup and removing them is important to your plan.
