About Talbot's Chainsaw

Talbot's Chainsaw, Equipment, designed by Tom Wänerstrand, Jim Nelson first released in August 1994 in the set Jyhad and was printed exactly in 5 different ways.

Talbot’s Chainsaw is best in a dedicated rush/combat deck—especially one using large, high-blood vampires, reliable blood gain, and expendable minions or allies to absorb its mandatory 3 unpreventable damage—because it provides a built-in +1 stealth rush action, solid 3-damage strikes, a press, and limited damage prevention; it is much less attractive in toolbox, vote, wall, or low-resource decks, since the bearer cannot hunt and the unlock-phase drawback can quickly cripple your crypt. It can be strong in specialized combat builds, including Potence- or Tzimisce-based decks, but it is generally too expensive and risky for competitive broad use. If your priority is simply weapon damage, Ivory Bow is usually better because it offers more threatening damage without the recurring self-inflicted damage, while decks primarily seeking reliable rush actions are often better served by dedicated actions such as Bum’s Rush or Haven Uncovered; Talbot’s Chainsaw should therefore see play only when
