About Stiff Contempt
Stiff Contempt, Action modifier, designed by Phillip Hilliker first released in February 2010 in the set Heirs to the Blood.
Stiff Contempt is best in Samedi bleed, political, or action-toolbox decks that make many important actions and want to exhaust opposing vampires’ blood, especially against intercept-heavy or low-blood decks; it is also attractive when your deck has limited access to stealth, since it can be played for free and may make repeated blocking unsustainable. However, it is usually weaker than simply adding stealth—cards such as Lost in Crowds, Faceless Night, or Elder Impersonation are generally better because they make the action actually harder or impossible to block rather than merely taxing the blocker—and it is poor in rush or combat decks that actively want opponents to block. Stiff Contempt can see play as a modest supplement in dedicated Samedi attrition or bleed builds, particularly alongside stealth and blood-denial effects, but it should not replace reliable stealth and is unlikely to deserve many copies in most decks.
