About Skin Trap
Skin Trap, Combat, designed by Drew Tucker first released in October 2000 in the set Sabbat War and was printed exactly in 3 different ways.
Skin Trap is best in a dedicated Vicissitude combat deck—especially Tzimisce wall, intercept-combat, or toolbox builds that rely on reliable hand strikes, aggravated damage, or other combat effects that are vulnerable to dodges—because its basic effect guarantees that the opposing minion cannot dodge, while superior Vicissitude can make low-blood vampires pay to strike; however, the card is less impressive against allies, blood-rich vampires, or decks that do not consistently enter combat, and spending one blood for a situational effect can be expensive. It is not universally better than every alternative, but Immortal Grapple is generally stronger in a Potence/Vicissitude combat package when the goal is to shut down opposing strike cards, while combat staples such as Taste of Vitae, maneuver cards, and damage-enhancing or damage-prevention cards may provide more overall value depending on the deck.
