About Skaald
Skaald, Action, designed by Ginés Quiñonero-Santiago first released in October 2014 in the set The Unaligned.
Skaald fits a Gangrel political deck built around capacity-5-or-higher, non-titled vampires calling votes such as Kine Resources Contested: it gives one vampire a recurring +2 votes and unlocks them after the action, so they can act again or defend. It is less useful in a deck that relies on titled vampires, who cannot play it, or one that rarely calls referendums. Animal Magnetism is generally the more flexible vote card for Gangrel with Animalism, especially at superior Animalism, though it must be played for each referendum; Skaald’s advantage is that its bonus persists without spending another card. I would play one copy in a dedicated non-titled Gangrel vote deck, but leave it out of a typical Gangrel combat or bleed deck.
