About Rubicon

Rubicon, Action, designed by Juan Antonio Serrano Garcia first released in April 2009 in the set 2009 Tournament / Storyline promo.

Rubicon fits a deck with titled, relatively high-capacity vampires that expects opponents to burn its vampires in combat. In that matchup, it can turn a loss into permanent removal of the attacker for no pool cost, provided the target is younger and non-titled. It is too conditional to build around, though: the burn must have happened since your last turn, and a titled enemy is never a valid target. For a vote-capable deck, **Banishment** is usually the better general-purpose removal card because you can choose a target without waiting for one of your vampires to be burned, although it requires a successful referendum and does not burn the target. I would play Rubicon as a one-copy metagame card if combat decks are common, not as a staple.
