About Rock Cat
Rock Cat, Ally, designed by Jeff Holt first released in December 2001 in the set Bloodlines and was printed exactly in 3 different ways.
Rock Cat fits a **Gargoyle combat deck** that wants repeatable rush actions: its 3 strength, optional press, and ability to play basic Potence cards make it useful for removing troublesome minions, while its first-round protection against small vampires is a welcome bonus. It is less attractive in a deck trying to oust quickly, since it costs 4 pool, has 0 bleed, and can be worn down despite its 4 life. **War Ghoul** is generally a stronger combat ally if your deck can meet its different requirements, while **Renegade Garou** is another potent rush option for decks that can afford it. Rock Cat should see play when your Gargoyle deck specifically needs more repeatable combat pressure, but I would treat it as a selective inclusion rather than an automatic staple.
