Rat’s Warning fits an **Animalism wall or combat deck** that often has locked vampires when opponents bleed and wants those vampires available to block; at superior Animalism, the optional press is a useful bonus if a block leads to combat. For most decks, though, **On the Qui Vive** is the better general-purpose reaction: it requires no discipline and lets a locked vampire respond to actions other than bleeds. Rat’s Warning has a distinct advantage because it actually **unlocks** the vampire rather than merely letting it react as though unlocked. I’d play a few copies only if your deck can exploit that real unlock or the superior press; otherwise, use more flexible wake effects instead.
