About Presence
Presence, Master, designed by Richard Thomas, Mike Dringenberg first released in August 1994 in the set Jyhad and was printed exactly in 8 different ways.
Presence is most useful in a deck whose key vampires lack Presence or have only basic Presence, but need it for a specific bleed, political, or defensive package—for example, to gain access to Majesty or improve cards they already use. Its zero-pool cost is attractive, and the capacity and generation increase can occasionally matter, but spending a master phase action to improve just one vampire is a substantial cost. There is no universally better card for granting that exact Discipline level; in most decks, though, **choosing vampires with the Presence you need printed on them** is better than relying on this card, leaving your master slots for more broadly useful cards such as Villein or Dreams of the Sphinx. It should see play as a targeted fix for a deliberate crypt choice, not as a routine inclusion in a Presence deck.
