About Patronage
Patronage, Action, designed by William O'Connor first released in October 2000 in the set Sabbat War and was printed exactly in 3 different ways.
Patronage is best in a Toreador antitribu toolbox or multi-acting deck built around several younger Toreador antitribu vampires, where a larger vampire can use Patronage to unlock both itself and a smaller vampire, creating additional actions for bleeds, intercept, or political setup; it is particularly attractive in a clan-focused deck that lacks reliable Fortitude access. However, it is usually inferior to Freak Drive when your vampires can play it, because Freak Drive untaps the acting vampire after a successful action without requiring a younger Toreador antitribu target and does not consume your action; Forced March can also be better when the goal is simply to generate another action. Patronage should therefore see play only as a metagame or synergy choice in a dedicated Toreador antitribu swarm/toolbox deck with enough younger vampires to unlock consistently, but it is generally not strong enough for a typical clan deck and should be replaced by Freak Drive or other action-recur
