About Papillon
Papillon, Master, designed by Sandra Chang-Adair first released in May 2018 in the set Keepers of Tradition Reprint and was printed exactly in 4 different ways.
Papillon mainly benefits political decks—especially Prince, Archbishop, Baron, or other city-title decks with several titled vampires—because it provides a reliable two blood per turn to keep key vampires ready for votes, bleeding, and superior-capacity actions; it is less attractive in stealth-bleed, combat, or weenie decks that lack enough titled vampires. The closest generally better option is **The Coven**, which provides the same two-blood hunting-ground effect without requiring a city title, although its cost and availability may differ; **Blood Doll** and **Vessel** are also more flexible and cheaper sources of blood but provide only one blood per turn. Papillon is therefore playable as a one-copy inclusion in a title-heavy political or mid-capacity deck, but it should not usually see play unless your deck reliably satisfies its requirement and particularly values recurring two-blood gain.
