About Nightstick
Nightstick, Equipment, designed by Peter Bergting first released in September 2007 in the set Lords of the Night.
Nightstick fits a **close-range combat deck** that expects repeated fights against minions using hand strikes or melee weapons: it offers a modest strength+1 strike and can instead prevent 3 damage from one qualifying strike, including one already resolving. Its value drops sharply against guns, ranged strikes, and other damage sources. If you mainly want the extra damage, **Weighted Walking Stick** is usually a more efficient choice; if you want a ranged threat, **Ivory Bow** offers something Nightstick cannot. Nightstick is worth considering as a niche defensive weapon in a combat-heavy metagame, but I would not make it a standard inclusion: it costs a pool and an equip action, and its protection is too matchup-dependent for most decks.
