About Metro Underground

Metro Underground, Master, designed by Randy Gallegos, Becky Cloonan first released in August 1994 in the set Jyhad and was printed exactly in 4 different ways.

Metro Underground fits a **reactive deck** whose vampires often finish your turn locked but need to be ready to block, bounce bleeds, or play other reactions during opponents’ turns. It is much less useful in an action-heavy deck: unlocking in your discard phase is too late to take another action that turn, and the pool cost adds up. For vampires with Fortitude, **Freak Drive** is usually better when the goal is to act again, because it unlocks the vampire during the minion phase; **Mylan Horseed (Goblin)** can also provide repeatable unlocking during that phase, though recruiting and protecting it are additional concerns. Metro Underground is playable as a niche defensive card, but I would not include it by default—use it only if your deck regularly needs a specific vampire unlocked for opponents’ turns and can afford the pool.
