About Hawg

Hawg, Equipment, designed by Tom Wänerstrand first released in August 1994 in the set Jyhad and was printed exactly in 4 different ways.

Hawg fits **multi-round combat decks**, particularly Animalism builds using Carrion Crows, where an optional press can keep combat going so recurring damage pays off; it can also help close-range combat decks continue after an opponent survives the first round, or end combat by countering an opposing press to continue. Its main attraction is a reusable press with no pool cost, but equipping usually costs an action, and a press does not solve the often more important problems of getting to the right range or preventing combat from ending. **Superior Aid from Bats** is generally better in Animalism because it combines a maneuver, a ranged damage strike, and an optional press; **superior Immortal Grapple** is better for Potence-based close combat because it provides a press while restricting strikes, including strike: combat ends. **Trap** is another free option for dedicated multi-round combat, although its compulsory presses make it less controllable than Hawg.
