Firebrand, Political action, designed by Andrew Bates first released in May 2003 in the set Anarchs.

Firebrand is best in an **anarch political or “toolbox” deck with a mix of vampire capacities**, where an older anarch can pass its referendum, use the permanent extra vote, and spend blood to unlock younger anarchs for additional votes, bleeds, or other actions. Its unlock ability has no explicit once-per-turn limit, so it can support several extra actions if the bearer has enough blood; blood replenishment such as **Voter Captivation**, when the vampire has Presence and can pass referendums, makes that especially attractive. It is less useful in decks of similarly sized vampires, dedicated bleed decks, or decks that cannot reliably pass political actions: the zero pool cost hides an action investment and an ongoing blood expense, and torpor removes the investment entirely. There is no universally better replacement, but **Bewitching Oration** is generally better if your Presence-based political deck primarily needs enough votes to pass an important referendum, while **Freak Drive** i
