About Ephor
Ephor, Master, designed by Vince Locke first released in May 2018 in the set Keepers of Tradition Reprint and was printed exactly in 2 different ways.
Ephor is best in a dedicated Ventrue “law firm” or big-capacity vote deck built around princes and justicars, especially one that expects to contest titles and can exploit the permanent +1 intercept and +1 vote on an 8-capacity Ventrue; the title-yielding action is powerful when relevant, but it is narrow, requires the target vampire to spend an action and succeed at the action, and does nothing in many games. There is no exact replacement that combines all three effects, but most decks will get more reliable value from general-purpose cards such as `Second Tradition: Domain` for defense or additional vote cards and political actions for a vote strategy. Ephor should see play only if your crypt reliably supplies multiple capacity-8-or-more Ventrue and your metagame contains frequent title contests; otherwise it is a low-priority master card that is usually worse than broader intercept, vote, or pool-management options.
