About Entombment
Entombment, Combat, designed by L. A. Williams first released in October 1996 in the set Sabbat and was printed exactly in 4 different ways.
Entombment is best in a combat-oriented deck built around vampires with superior Obtenebration, especially Lasombra, Kiasyd, or other OBT combat/bleed builds that can reliably reach combat and afford its steep 2-blood cost; its basic effect is particularly valuable in ally-heavy metas, while its superior effect can immediately torpor an opposing vampire without relying on damage. However, it is vulnerable to dodge and strike-ending effects, and paying 2 blood for a single combat strike is expensive, so most decks should prefer more flexible combat packages such as Immortal Grapple, Disarm, aggravated-damage options, or additional maneuvers and presses, depending on the crypt and discipline spread. Entombment should generally see only limited play—perhaps one or two copies in a dedicated OBT combat deck or a local meta full of allies—rather than being a staple, because it is powerful when it works but too narrow and costly for most general-purpose decks.
