Edge Vitiation is mainly useful in a Serpentis/SER wall or control deck that can reliably block actions and wants to punish a predator for bleeding while denying them the Edge; its inferior effect is a niche way to strip a prey’s Edge and pool, but the superior effect is the real reason to include it. However, it does not prevent or redirect the bleed, requires an action to play, and can itself be burned by any minion, so it is considerably weaker than standard bleed-defense cards such as Deflection or Redirection, which actually protect your pool and often generate better table position. It may also have value in Edge-dependent decks or political/control builds, but in most decks it should not see play: use it as a one- or two-copy meta call when you have strong SER access and expect Edge-focused or successful-bleed strategies, otherwise prioritize Deflection, Redirection, Telepathic Misdirection, or other defensive options.
