Despiral

About Despiral

Despiral, Action, designed by Heather V. Kreiter first released in May 2009 in the set Ebony Kingdom.

Despirial is best suited to a dedicated Ishtarri bleed deck—especially one built around a few durable, high-capacity vampires that can repeatedly act, gain blood, and exploit +1 stealth—but it is generally too slow and action-intensive for competitive play: the first counter costs an action and 1 blood for only +1 bleed, while each additional counter requires another action and increasingly more blood, and the vampire may be removed before the investment pays off. In most decks, immediate bleed modifiers such as Conditioning, Threats, Foreshadowing Destruction, or similar discipline-based options are better because they increase the current bleed without requiring multiple setup actions; permanent options that provide reliable bleed or additional actions are also usually preferable. Despirial can be entertaining in a thematic or casual Ishtarri deck, particularly with strong blood management and untap support, but unless the deck is specifically designed to exploit its long-term scalin
