About Brute Force
Brute Force, Combat, designed by Brian LeBlanc first released in September 2007 in the set Lords of the Night and was printed exactly in 2 different ways.
Brute Force mainly benefits Potence combat decks that use melee weapons, especially aggressive weapon-focused builds where the vampire wants to convert a weapon strike into significant additional damage; it is less attractive in ordinary hand-strike Potence decks because Torn Signpost provides +2 damage at inferior Potence and +3 at superior, making it stronger than Brute Force’s hand-strike option, while Immortal Grapple is usually a better combat-control card when the deck’s plan is to force or punish opposing hand strikes. Brute Force’s weapon option is its unique justification, but melee-weapon decks often have stronger priorities such as additional combat control, maneuvers, damage prevention, and reliable weapon access, so it should generally see play only in a dedicated Potence melee-weapon deck with enough copies of relevant weapons; in most other Potence decks, it is a situational inclusion rather than a staple.
